What Smart City WiFi Features Are Available?

Built for real cities with real people - residents, tourists, and city staff alike

One Login for Residents

Residents sign up once and they're set. Their credentials work at every city WiFi spot - the library, the park, downtown, everywhere.

Tourists Just Connect

Visitors with OpenRoaming on their devices connect automatically - no forms, no passwords. Their phone just works, like magic.

First Responders Stay Connected

When emergencies happen, responders from neighboring areas connect instantly. No fumbling with passwords when every second counts.

Privacy People Can Trust

We don't need to know who people are to connect them. Anonymous access, clear policies, and full GDPR compliance - because trust matters.

WiFi for Everyone

Not everyone's a tech expert, and that's okay. We offer simple ways to get online so nobody gets left behind.

Smart Insights, No Tracking

See where people gather and how they move through your city - all anonymous and aggregated. Great for planning, respectful of privacy.

Where Does Smart City WiFi Work?

Reliable WiFi in every corner of your city

Downtown & Public Squares

Keep shoppers, workers, and visitors connected in busy areas. Perfect for farmers markets, street festivals, and everyday life.

Public Transit

Buses, trams, metro stations - commuters stay online during their ride. The connection follows them from platform to seat and back.

Parks & Recreation

Let people work from the park, stream at the beach, or check their phones during little league. Fresh air and WiFi go great together.

City Buildings

Libraries, community centers, city hall - residents use the same login everywhere. No more different passwords for every building.

How Is Resident Privacy Protected?

People trust their city. We help you earn that trust with WiFi that doesn't spy on anyone. Secure connections, no personal data collection, and full transparency about how it all works.

Got Questions?

Here's what cities usually ask us

How do tourists get connected?

If they've got OpenRoaming on their phone (many hotels and airlines set this up), they'll connect automatically when they arrive. No sign-up forms, no passwords - their phone just works.

Is resident data kept private?

Absolutely. We don't need to collect personal information to authenticate people. Residents can stay anonymous and still get secure, reliable WiFi access.

Can different city departments share the same network?

Yes! Public WiFi, emergency services, city staff, and IoT sensors can all run on the same hardware. Each gets their own secure, isolated slice of the network.

How long does setup take?

We work with your existing WiFi equipment, so there's no need to rip and replace. Most cities are up and running in days, not months. If you've got modern Passpoint-capable access points, you're already most of the way there.

"Deploying city-wide WiFi used to mean months of configuration. IronWiFi's multi-zone management let us cover 12 public spaces in a single afternoon. The analytics dashboard gives our city council real usage data for the first time."
